In 2014, Goldman Sachs launched Marquee, a platform that offers institutional clients access to the firm’s market insights, analytics tools, execution capabilities, and data and developer services. Marquee can integrate directly with clients’ own technology platforms via APIs. The platform was built on the foundation of Securities Database, a proprietary risk management platform developed by a team of “strats” in the 1990s.
Goldman Sachs launched GS Financial Workbench in 1995, which allowed clients and employees to download research reports, access earnings and valuation models, submit trades, monitor accounts, build and view presentations, calculate derivative prices, and view market data.
The strats later integrated APIs into the platform, culminating in the launch of Marquee. Marquee offers clients access to pricing data, risk models, proprietary datasets, research reports, trade ideas, analytics and charting tools, and execution services. Goldman Sachs uses technology to help institutions navigate the markets, better manage risk, and make more informed investment and trading decisions.
